Prayer During COVID-19
Faith
Pray for renewed and emboldened Faith for each other and yourselves. Come before the Lord in humility and seek His will for how to lead in this moment.
Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth”
Nehemiah 8:11 “The Levites calmed all the people, saying, ‘Be still, for this is a holy day. Do not grieve.’ ”
James 1:3 “because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance…”
Hebrews 11:3 “Now Faith is the confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.”
Hope
Pray to truly cast your anxieties on the Lord. Pray for your fellow pastors and leaders as you all set your focus not on the seen but the unseen.
Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.”
Job 6:11 “What strength do I have, that I should still hope? What prospects, that I should be patient?”
Exodus 14:14 “The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.”
Love
(The greatest of these…) Pray that the Church would step into this situation with love. There are and will be substantial opportunities for you and your congregations to model Christ’s love in ways that will have huge transformative kingdom impact. Be encouraged, renewed, hopeful, faithful, and loving. Pray for ways to Love one another to meet the needs of other ministries and pray for ways to Love the people of South Florida in ways that bring undeniable glory to Christ.
1 John 4:18 “There is no fear in Love. But perfect love drives out fear…”
Romans 12:10 “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another about yourselves.”
Colossians 3:14-15 “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. Let the Peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
