South Florida Flood Relief Opportunities

South Florida — we know many of you are hurting, or know someone who is hurting, right now as a result of last week's unprecedented flooding. We want you to know that we stand by you and are ready to serve you. South Florida is our home. We live, work, raise our families, and worship here. Its pain is our pain. Many of our friends and neighbors are experiencing loss and uncertainty, resulting in many opportunities to provide tangible hope, help and support. As followers of Jesus, we are called to be the first responders of God’s Kingdom in times of crisis; we invite you to join us by offering financial support or partnering with a local church to serve those who have been impacted.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT.

Church United’s backbone organization is the National Christian Foundation of South Florida and together we have always made a commitment to collaboratively respond to the pain of our community well after the news cycle has ended.

Unlike GoFundMe, The Red Cross, and similar donation platforms, our Disaster Relief and Crisis Fund ensures that 100% of your gift goes directly to relief efforts and in service of those in desperate need without any overhead or administrative fees. Our commitment is to keep you informed as we coordinate with local churches and best-in-class ministry partners on the ground in areas severely impacted by the flood events.

Our Disaster Relief and Crisis Fund is activated during severe storms and community crisis and serves as a fund dedicated to providing hope, help, and healing. For those looking to provide financial support for those impacted by the storm, you may do so by contributing to the Disaster Relief and Crisis Fund using the button below (you’ll be redirected to our secure giving site hosted by the National Christian Foundation).

VOLUNTEER.

Many churches in South Florida are organizing service opportunities to help those who have been seriously impacted by last week's storm; we encourage you to first reach out to your local church to discover ways in which you can volunteer your time to provide relief to those hurting in our community. Samaritan's Purse has also organized service days beginning Tuesday, April 18th, and has designated First Baptist Fort Lauderdale as the host site for organizing and disbursing volunteers throughout the community.
